STATEMENT OF THE SECRETARIAT OF RELATIONS
On the Midterm Elections of the United States of America

The Secretariat of Relations of the Kingdom of Navassa, speaking for Her Majesty's Chancellery, extends its warmest regards to the people of the United States of America upon the conclusion of their midterm elections.

Millions of Americans, in every state and of every background, went to the polls in this election, many of them in the face of fear and intimidation. In doing so, they gave a resounding rebuke to the politics of hate, fear, and violence directed against the vulnerable among them. The Kingdom honors their courage. It also honors the election officials, poll workers, and volunteers whose labors keep the franchise open and orderly.

Navassa is a community of many peoples gathered under one Crown, and it holds a settled conviction that a nation is measured by how it treats its most vulnerable. The Kingdom therefore takes heart that so many Americans have affirmed that no one should live in fear for who they are, whom they love, or where they came from.

The Secretariat looks to the coming season with hope. It prays that the work of governing will be marked by good faith, compassion, and a firm resolve to protect those most in need of protection. May the United States enter a new era of peace and prosperity, shared by all her people.

The Kingdom remains, as ever, a supporter and friend to the American people. It stands ready to offer what small counsel and goodwill it may.
