Mandate

The Secretariat of Civic Affairs serves the people of Navassa as a community. It administers the Kingdom's relationship with its subjects and members, and the honours by which the Crown recognizes their contribution.

What the Secretariat handles

  • The peerage of seven tiers, from Seigneurie to Princedom, contribution-based and in the French register, with gender-neutral forms
  • Recording of titles in the Golden Book (active) and the Black Book (dormant)
  • Annual Honours
  • Membership of the Royal Society
  • Subject and citizenship enquiries

Instruments and records

The Golden Book, the Black Book, and the annual Honours list. Letters Patent of peerage are issued through the Secretariat of the Royal Household.
